Why it exists
Most bookkeeping software assumes an accountant will tidy things up at the end of the year. Many owners with simple books would rather do it themselves, if the software told them what to do next and laid the numbers out the way CRA asks for them.
So CollabNorth keeps the everyday work free (invoices, receipts, expenses, reports and a running number for what to set aside) and puts the effort into tax time.
What it covers, and what it doesn't
Worksheets, not filing
It prepares your GST/HST, T2125 and corporation numbers. You file with CRA yourself, or hand the package to an accountant.
Federal and Ontario rules
Invoices charge the right sales tax for every province. Tax-time worksheets follow federal and Ontario rules; Quebec returns are not covered yet.
Not professional advice
Everything is general information from your own records. If your situation is complicated, an accountant is still worth it.
Your records stay yours
Export everything any time: every invoice, expense, receipt photo and bank line in one download.
How we check our tax content
- Every help article and tool cites the CRA or provincial page it is based on.
- Each one shows the date we last checked it against that source.
- Tax rates live in one table, shared by invoices, the calculator and the province pages, so they can't disagree.
- The tax rules in the app are covered by automated tests.
