Am I a small supplier? The $30,000 GST/HST check
You are a small supplier, and don't have to charge GST/HST, until your taxable sales pass $30,000. Enter your sales before tax for each calendar quarter to see where you stand. Nothing you type leaves your browser.
Your taxable sales before tax
Count zero-rated sales too. Leave out exempt sales and financial services.
- Last four quarters (Oct to Dec 2025 to Jul to Sep 2026)
- $0.00
- Including this quarter (Jan to Mar 2026 to Oct to Dec 2026)
- $0.00
Under the $30,000 limit
- You are a small supplier, so you don't have to register or charge GST/HST.
- You can still register early if you want to claim back the GST/HST you pay on business costs.
What counts toward $30,000
- Your sales before tax, not your profit, by calendar quarter.
- Zero-rated sales count. Exempt sales and financial services don't. The worldwide sales of businesses associated with yours count too. See Do I need to register for GST/HST?
- There are two tests. Over $30,000 in one quarter means you charge GST/HST from the sale that took you over. Over $30,000 across four quarters gives you until the end of the following month.
- Taxi and ride-share drivers must register from their first fare.
