Email receipts in

Forward e-receipts and bills to your business's private address and they land in Receipts to finish, read for you.

Online orders, subscriptions and suppliers often send receipts by email. Forward them to your business's receipts address instead of downloading and uploading each one.

Find your address

Open Expenses. Your address is under the tabs, for example `k7m3q9x2pd@receipts.collabnorth.ca`. Tap Copy. Each business has its own address, so keep it private like a password.

Tip: add it to your phone's contacts as "Receipts", or set up a rule in your email to forward receipts from a supplier automatically.

What happens to an email

  • Each attached receipt (a photo or PDF, up to 5 per email) becomes an expense.
  • An email with the receipt in the message itself, like most online orders, is saved as a PDF and becomes one expense.
  • The app reads the vendor, date, total, GST/HST and category, using your monthly receipt reads (30 a month on the free plan). When the reads are used up, the receipt is still saved for you to fill in.
  • Everything goes into Receipts to finish. Check each one and save it to take it off the list.

Logos and pictures inside the email aren't saved. Up to 50 emails a day are taken for each business.

Keep the record

The saved file is your copy of the receipt for CRA, like a snapped photo. See What a receipt needs for CRA.
